This module enables a special user mode for Axioscan 7. Expert users have full access to the regular functionality and user interface of ZEN slidescan. For Express users, some parts of the user interface are simplified for routine tasks. The changes for the new mode include the following:

• Two new users are available in the user management of ZEN, Full Access and Express.
• A new wizard is introduced to easily adapt an existing scan profile for a new batch of samples.
• As an Express user, you cannot create a new scan profile and have no access to the Smart Scan Profile Selection wizard as well as the Scan Profile Editor.
• The user interface is changed and restricted.

User Interface Restrictions

If you are logged in as Express user, the restrictions on the user interface of ZEN slidescan include the following:

• In the menu bar, you do not have access to the Acquisition and Macro menus.
• In the Tools menu, you only have access to Kitchen Timer, Unmixing Spectra Database, and Options.
• In the Left Tool Area, you do not have the Locate and Acquisition tabs.
• In the Right Tool Area, you do not have the Stage and Focus tools.
• In the Magazine View, you do not have the options to modify or create a new scan profile, which includes the buttons Scan Profile Builder and Create New Scan Profile.
