For the best detection rate, the sample needs to fulfill the following requirements:

  • The sample is on a standard microscope slide with a cover slip.
  • The sample contains of one or multiple tissue pieces with sizes of at least 5 mm2 each.
  • The tissue has a sufficient contrast in the prescan overview. Typically, this requires more than 2µm thickness.
  • The sample does not contain significant contaminations by dirt like fingerprints.
  • More than 90% of the tissue is free of air bubbles.
  • There is no additional content on the slide except for the tissue, like hydrophobic pen or other markers.
