From ZEN core NMI v.3.11 onwards, you can select various inclusion width parameters for type A,C and D for the following standards.

Note: In ZEN core NMI versions previous to v.3.11 and in the default settings in v.3.11, single and multi particle inclusions use different inclusion width parameter.

The default settings are backwards compatible. If other inclusion width parameters are selected than the defaults, single- and multi particle inclusions use the same width parameter.

The selected width inclusion parameters are shown in the archived table <Standard>_InclusionTable_Specimen-<No> in Browse Results under Result Documents.

Selection of inclusion width parameters is available for:

  • ASTM E45
  • ISO 4967
  • JIS G 0555
  • GB/T 10561

Selection of inclusion width parameters is not available for:

  • SEP 1571
  • DIN EN 10247
  • EN 50602
  1. You have defined the name for the standard template.
  1. Open step Adapt NMI Parameter.
  2. The following view is displayed.
  3. In the workbench area, select the width parameter for inclusion type A and C. You have the following options:
    -Area/Length
    -Max Inscribed Circle
    -Feret Min
    -Feret Vertical to Max
  4. In the workbench area, select the width parameter for inclusion type D. You have the following options:
    -Feret Max
    -Max Inscribed Circle
    -ECD (DCircle)
  5. To change the parameters in the center screen area, use the slider or the spin box.
  6. To reset a parameter value, click
    .
  7. To save your changes, click
    .
  8. The Save Changes? dialog opens.
  9. Click Yes.
  10. The new standard template with the adapted parameter(s) is now available.

The modified standard template must be loaded to the job template to be active, see Standard Selection Tool. Note: Any time you modify a standard template, you must reload it to the job template.
