Setting Up the arivis Hub DMS Uploader

  1. You have installed the uploader tool.
  2. You have a project created and available on arivis Hub DMS.
  1. Start the application.
  2. A login screen is displayed.
  3. Enter the url of your server as well as your User Name, Password, and click Log In.
    Note that the user account must have sufficient access rights to upload documents.
  4. You are logged in and the status page opens.
  5. Open the Settings page.
  6. The application settings are displayed.
  7. For Drop folder name, select the folder where the images that should be uploaded are located.
  8. You have defined the upload folder.
  9. To delete the images after a successful upload, activate Delete uploaded files. If it is deactivated, all successfully uploaded files are placed in a subfolder Uploaded of the drop folder.
  10. Images are deleted or moved based on the setting.
  11. If the tool should remember your username and password for the next start of the application, activate Remember credentials for auto start and auto login.
  12. The application remembers your credentials.
  13. For Observation Interval, enter a number to specify after how many seconds the application should again check the folder for new images to upload.
  14. You have set the interval.
  15. For Maximum retry count, enter the number of times the tool should try to upload an image in case this process fails.
  16. In the Add to project dropdown, select the project to which the uploaded images should be added.
  17. You have defined the project on arivis Hub DMS for upload.
  18. To directly add tags to uploaded images, activate Enable.
  19. An input field is displayed.
  20. Enter a tag name and press Enter.
  21. The tag is created and will be added to every uploaded image.
  22. Click Apply to confirm your settings and start the application.
  1. The settings are validated. If there are any invalid settings, an error message is displayed. Otherwise, you have now set up the arivis Hub DMS Uploader and the application starts to upload the files from the drop folder to arivis Hub DMS.
  2. The uploaded images are only accessible by users with proper access rights.

Changing the Settings

To change the settings, take the following steps:

  1. The uploader is running.
  1. In the Windows task bar, click on the icon of the application Blue square icon with white upward-pointing arrow. Alternatively, right-click the icon and select Show Uploader.
  2. The uploader opens.
  3. Go to the Settings page, change your settings, and click Apply to confirm your changes.
  4. The settings are validated. If there are any invalid settings, an error message is displayed. Otherwise, the upload process (re-)starts with the changed settings.
