Server Management
Opening the Management Interface
Management App
If you are directly on the server, you alternatively can use the arivis Hub Management App to manage the server. During installation, a shortcut arivis Hub Management App is created and added to the Windows start menu in the folder for Carl Zeiss Microscopy.
Access without the additional port
You can also access the user interface of the management server without having to open an additional port (e.g. 8088) in the firewall. For this, use the server address and add /mgmt, for example https://myarivisHub.org/mgmt. This only works if both the arivis Hub Application Server and arivis Hub Management Server are up and running. Note that you will lose connection to the server if you restart one of these services from the management interface!
- You have installed arivis Hub DMS and you have access to it.
- Open your browser, go to the address field, type the URL of your server with the port number for the management server, for example https://myarivisHub.org:8088, and press Enter.
In case you are working directly on the server, type http://localhost:8088 and press Enter. - The page for the management server of arivis Hub DMS opens.
- If you are working directly on the server (localhost), the management user interface opens directly without a login.
- Click Log in.
- The log in window opens.
- Enter the name of your User as well as your Password and press Enter.
- You are logged in and the management user interface opens. You can now look up information about the Status of the server and the individual Services, adjust server settings, define custom metadata, and view and download the log files, see Viewing and Downloading Log Files.

Importing Data from ZEN Data Storage
Accessing ZEN Data Storage
The SQL Server is accessed with the credentials of the respective Windows service, in the standard case with the SYSTEM account. If you set up ZEN Data Storage to require username and password for a database connection, you have to adapt the connection string and use User Id=...;Password=... instead of Integrated Security=SSPI. This especially applies if your ZEN Data Storage is on a remote instance.
- You have opened the management user interface of arivis Hub DMS and are logged in as administrator, see Opening the Management Interface.
- Your server can access the database and file share of the ZEN Data Storage.
- Open the ZEN Data Storage Import page with the menu on the left side.
- The first step of the import is displayed.
- Enter the Storage Server Connection String, the Identity Server Connection String and the File Server Data Path of your ZEN Data Storage installation. The connection strings need to include the machine name and the security aspect. If ZEN Data Storage is on a remote server, the file path needs to point to a shared folder where arivis Hub DMS has access.
- The export parameters for ZEN Data Storage are defined.
- Enter the Keycloak Admin Username and the Keycloak Admin Password for your arivis Hub DMS administrator account and click Next.
- The entered information is validated.
- After successful validation, the next step of the import opens and displays statistics of your ZEN Data Storage.
- Check the displayed information and click Next.
- A confirmation dialog is displayed.
- Click Import.
- The import of the complete database and all files is started, and the third step opens.
- The third step displays the progress of the import and allows you to abort.
- Users and groups (including group permissions) are imported into Keycloak.
- Collections are imported as projects and files that are not part of a collection are imported into a default project. Files that are part of multiple collections are copied/duplicated into the respective projects.
