Uploader tool
Introduction
The arivis Hub DMS Uploader needs unrestricted access to the images in the drop folder! With restricted access rights the proper functionality of the tool cannot be guaranteed.
Time Deviation
In the very unlikely event that there is a time deviation greater than five minutes between the client and the server, the authentication of the client fails for security reasons. In this case working with arivis Hub DMS is not possible. You have to fix the system time of the client and/or server before a retry.
The arivis Hub DMS Uploader is a small stand-alone application to automatically upload files from a local drop folder into a specific project on arivis Hub DMS. If you have a folder where a number of microscope images are saved, you can automatically upload these files. Once started, the application checks the drop folder continuously for files and uploads them. Note that each image is deleted from the drop folder after it has been successfully uploaded if the Delete uploaded files checkbox is activated on the settings page. When the checkbox is deactivated, all the successfully uploaded files are placed in an Uploaded subfolder of the drop folder. If the upload of an image fails continuously, the file is placed in a Failed upload subfolder.
The title bar of the application allows you to log out of the application (by clicking on the username) and to open the help menu (via the ?), where you can access the About/Publisher information as well as this quick guide. When you click on the username, also the current server name is displayed in the logout dropdown. If you close the uploader window by clicking x in the title bar, you are asked if you want to just hide the uploader (which then keeps running in the background), or if you want to shut down the application.
The arivis Hub DMS Uploader does not support single sign-on (SSO) logins via Keycloak Identity Brokering. It only supports SSO login via arivis Hub DMS user accounts or Keycloak User Federation. As a workaround, set up special user accounts for login to the uploader application.
