ZEN 3.13

Base Software

• Added a user feedback dialog when closing ZEN (for connected ZEN installations only).
• Upgraded Glencoe Bioformats importer to version 8.0.1-761.

2D Toolkit

• Added a selection menu in the segmentation step of the image analysis wizard to improve usability: A dialog provides a picture of typical use case and descriptive text for different segmentation options, including AI solutions.

Changes in available measurement features:

• Added Inscribed Circle ignoring holes in the objects.
• Calculation of Feret features is now using a new algorithm, which gives identical measurement results to arivis Pro. Related measurement features which use the Feret features as a basis were replaced accordingly. The newly introduced features are indicated by the ending (“arivis”).

Backward compatibility: Existing image analysis settings created with older ZEN versions will still work without adaptations.

3D Toolkit

Compatibility notice:

• 3D analysis results generated by ZEN versions 3.13 and above utilize the object store v4 format. As a result, these files will not be readable by older ZEN versions which use object store v3.

Advanced/Motorized Acquisition

• Increased the maximum number of positions (in tiles) to 1000 (important for tiling with Lightfield 4D).

AI Toolkit

• Enhanced support for training single-channel Intellesis Segmentation models with multi-channel images: You can now also add multi-channel images to a model trained on a single channel and select the desired channel to be used for each individual image.

Developer Toolkit

Only relevant for COM users:

• You need to register an additional COM assembly: Zeiss.Micro.LM.Scripting.Research.comhost.dll

Lattice SIM

• Enabled automatic synchronization of the selected objective lens with all tracks of the experiment.
• Implemented option to define dye names in the tracks.

Lightfield 4D

• Added option to use Viluma 9 for fast multicolor imaging and high illumination power in the 500-600nm spectrum.
• Improved speed of Lightfield 4D processing in Direct Processing by a factor of two.
• Implemented various usability improvements.

LSM DCV

• Spectral/Confocal imaging will benefit from LSM DCV, the iterative sibling of LSM plus. This allows even higher resolution figures over the complete wavelength range incl. NIR at PH sizes of 1 AU.

Airyscan MPLX

• Airyscan MPLX benefits from an extended range of the sampling slider for more undersampling freedom, which often allows one faster speed step without much loss in image quality.

Microscopy Copilot

• Improved answer quality, for example previous messages in the conversation are taken into account better for answering follow-up questions.
• Copilot takes into account the installed ZEN version and provides answers relevant to this version.

ZEISS Knowledge Base

• You can now access all information relevant for ZEN and other software products in the web. The new ZEISS Knowledge Base, see https://knowledge.zeiss.com/rms, is an online platform which provides all information about the software in one place.
